For parents or teachers who might be interested in participating in
the First Lego League (FLL) competition next year, there is an
informational meeting at Memorial High school. This is for kids in
grades 4-8. Flyer attached.

You should definately plan to go to the meeting if you think you might
be interested, because when the league starts in the fall everything
goes very quickly and you will feel lost! Also it will really help to
know exactly what the league involves, because kids who go into it
thinking they are just going to be building legos will be
disappointed. The competition is pretty intense and it involves:
1. Conducting a research project and presenting findings in some
interesting way to judges
2. Building and programming a working robot (they look more like
vehicles, not C3PO)
4. Making the robot do specific set of "missions" on a regulation field
5. Working together effectively with other kids as a team
The competition is judged 25% on each of these things.
